so is it correct that the Q5 is on the A platform and haldex-based?

nice that it will have DSG, but Haldex is pretty weak for an Audi-branded SUV, IMHO

Default no. Q5 is MLP based, same as upcoming A4, A5, and A7. no haldex

S Tronic transmission (DSG) is being developed for longitudinal MLP layout.
