Sport interior package for 2.0T? worth the $500
#2
For $500 you get sports seats, 4-way adjustable lumbar and paddle shifters. Sounds like a bargain to me, and there aren't too many Audi options I would describe as a bargain. The only reason I wouldn't get the package is if I had my heart set on beige or gray interior, which aren't available with the sport interior.

I would pay the 500 Washingtons just for the paddle shifters. We already have 4 way adjustable lumbar support, don't we? If we are talking about the sides that come in and squeeze you in place, then I'm out cause I am too fat to use it.

I'm pretty sure the sport seats have an extendable thigh support. BMW does on their cars, can't imagine Audi wouldn't.

Actually that is really useful on long rides. Better thigh support was on my wishlist but it wasn't available. Cough up the cash...you won't regret it.

Yes, there is a pull out lower section on the sport seats. I didn't personally like it when I tried it out, but I haven't had the oppourtunity to use it over time to know for sure. As long as it didn't move out when you didn't want it too (see center armrest) I'm sure they'll be fine. I liked the sport seats, but I didn't really see that big of a difference honestly. It's not like they were the real "S" sport seats that come in the S4, RS5, etc.
Here is a pic I just took of the difference in the seats (I had an allroad brochure laying around on the coffee table). This compares the regular seats, with the sport seats. These are not the S4 real "S/RS" sports seats.
And I must be the only one on here who is not a fan of the paddle shifters. I specifically ordered my flat-bottom wheel without them because I feel they get in the way when you want to wrap you hands around the wheel arms. Plus, when I'm in manual, I like to run the shifter. It feels more like a manual tranny that way. (note: it didn't until I added the sport shifter, the big ugly didn't do it for me)
John, you're cracking me up with the too fat to use it comment.
