SQ5 21" Tire Life
We are closing to purchasing an SQ5...I'm curious as to what tire life, with both Dunlops and Pirellis, are folks are seeing with the stock 21s under "normal" driving conditions?
The dealer told me you could "baby" them to 25k or 30k, but I have trouble believing that, based on what I've seen on this forum in the past.

I'll let SQ5 owners chime in with real life results, but I just wanted to point out that a lot of it depends on whether you mainly cruise on the hwy or roam around town and make lots of turns, stops, hard accelerations, etc.. Naturally, hwy will get you longer life. So if anyone responds in this thread, they may want to clarify % of hwy driving they do.

I have around 11,000 miles in my original 21's. I run a winter set up also. The 21's are staring to I show some wear. I don't expect to get more than 16-17k miles out of them. I only got about 16k out of the same tires on my S5

I completely agree. I have about 13k miles on them (and also have dedicated winter tires) and I don't see them going past 18k or so. And being that my wife drives the car it is being driven anything but aggressively.

Mixed driving, I'd say 40% highway.
I just switched to the winters for the season and measured the tread depth on the OE 21" Dunlop SP Sportmaxx. They are at 6/32" after 15k miles on them, so that is roughly half the treadlife. (Started at 10/32", legally worn at 2/32").
Worst part is my wife took it in for 15k service last month and they recommended that she get new tires...at half worn...damn stealerships. They didn't even measure the depth, probably have no clue since the tread pattern has almost no sipes in it which make it "look" very smooth even though they have life left.

I have almost 22k miles on my Pirellis Pzeros.
Went to dealer today for steering recall. They said I have 5/32" left on my tires...winters going on soon.
I commute about 40 minutes to work, straight shot only encounter like 3 or 4 lights.

It also depends on where you live and what is used as road media. I lived in So Florida, where the asphalt is made of crushed seashells, which have sharp points. They tend to wear out tires much quicker than other places.

Tire life? MEH
28,000 km (2 winters with dedicated 19" rims/Pirellis and 2 summers with dedicated 21" rims/Dunlops), just finishing 2nd summer and had winters installed today: 21" OEM "summer" Dunlops due for change after 2 summers according to dealer. No excessive driving style (a lot of mobile photo-radars in Quebec City). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy driving this SUV, but wondering at this price point whether better options exist or if I need to invest in the luxury rubber industry...
