Many 2014s aren't up on fueleconomy.gov currently anyway, even the ones we've known about for a while (like the Q5 TDI). Not sure how often they update and how recently Audi sent the estimate to the EPA for approval.

Interesting that the highway value's so much lower. I guess maybe the Cd really is 0.36 vs. 0.33 for the regular Q5....

Just guessing here the difference is due to higher horsepower engine and a different final differential gearing.

Thanks for the pics! Happen to get any of the interior? Local dealer is supposed to have a couple of SQ5's in stock within the next week or so to view as well...

Thanks!

Argh...if only it was 1" lower from the factory...

Wonder what the ride will be like with lowered springs only, instead of with the coilovers.

Good catch!

So 16/23 (19) for the SQ5 and 18/26 (21) for the Q5 3.0T. That is quite the difference - OMG!

Those Cd differences shouldn't affect "city" by 2 mpg, so presumably it's all in the tuning/gearing/gear selection/etc that's sucking down the fuel. Maybe the heavier standard wheels too? Oh wait, that gets included in Cd, right? It's not just aerodynamics, but any resistance that would slow a car from speed.

Also, WTF happened to Edmunds.com? I guess they are trying to be more phone/tablet friendly?

Ah, they finally got the TDI up there.... Generally takes months after we know the ratings for them to get posted online.

Default SQ5 price

I priced up an SQ5 yesterday (premium, estoril blue, napa leather, MMI and B&O stereo) and it looks like the dealer is willing to go 4.5% off MSRP. I think it sounds like a good deal but wanted to get some input from others.

The gear box seems to be the same across the entire Q5 line but the SQ5 diff is a little lower than the 3.0T (3.076 vs 3.204). So the SQ5 should see lower RPM at a given speed and, from that alone, should see better mpg numbers. I would think it's simply a matter of engine tune (e.g. the twin-scroll supercharger) that hurts the SQ5 mpg.

However, I don't think many people will be buying the SQ5 for its fuel efficiency. It does make another compelling argument for the biturbo TDI though.

Yeah, but still strange/boggling that we sometimes first find out the MPG when one of these cars arrives at a dealership and we read the window sticker. You'd think it should be able to be obtained prior to that from some other means (audiusa.com, edmunds, EPA site, PIB, articles, etc)
