Default SQ5 Tow Hitch

I'm looking to get a Tow Hitch installed on my '14 SQ5 for a bike rack. A local sport rack dealer dealer offers Curt Hitch Rack. Anyone have one of these installed on their Q5 or SQ5? If so, have you had any issues with its use or design? I recognize it mounts and hangs below the bumper fascia. Considering this condition has it bottomed-out?

I went with the factory hitch because I didn't want an aftermarket hitch hanging below the rear valence. It was expensive, but worth it to me.

Execuhitch makes one that fits inside of the bumper like the factory one, has just as high of a rating as factory and comes in 2 versions. One for using with bike racks and one for towing. Only difference is the towing models has the harness adapter and tow hooks for the chains.

I put the Execuhitch in our SQ5, took me about 2 hours to do in our garage. Works the same way as the factory one, you remove the center lower valence panel and put the receiver in place and then put your bike rack into the receiver.

The execuhitch is $550ish, the factory one is $2k.

I have done it both ways. The factory is definitely a cleaner install.

It cost me about $180 to do the Curt myself and it was simple so is it worth it to purchase the stock one that is so over priced? Only you can say.

Hidden hitch is almost identical to the stock factory hitch, and if you just want the hitch with no wiring, about $150 delivered. Nice because it doesn't stick out below the bumper, but projects through it like the factory hitch.

I could be wrong but I don't see how that would be the same height as the original as the original replaces part of the bumper and does not just bolt onto the chassis.

This one does exactly the same as the factory one. It replaces the under bumper and bolts to the frame rails.

You can see, if you compare, that the factory hitch and the earlier linked hitch exit the same place, and bolt up the same way.

I agree but it seems different then the one you posted from Ebay.

Does the fascia have to be cut to accommodate for the Hidden Hitch?

The Audi one is slightly different, but no better, and the configuration is the same.
