More of a general car question, but does it matter at all where you get your tires mounted and balanced? Reason I ask is, the dealership is charging me $50 a wheel, whereas a local Wheel Works shop is only charging $15 per wheel. Does it matter at all where you take it or will the results be the same no matter what?

It doesn't matter, the only thing to pay attention to is how they balance the wheels and how well they treat the wheels such as scratches, etc. If you have a good shop, stick with it.

Check whether it is road force balanced. This method is usually around $45-$50 a wheel. Also make sure the shop has a touchless installer, otherwise risk your rims getting marred up. Just saying .....

Default Winter Setup

Temps dropped here recently and had time this weekend to swap out the summer 21" for the 20" winter set (Scorpion Winter) on Audi peelers. Feels pretty good so far but they are heavy. Very happy with the look.

Looks great, where did you get those peelers?

I was thinking of getting those exact wheels. If you have time, please post a pic from further away.

Thanks. Took a while for me to run them down actually. Finally found a set of take offs at a place called Pro Wheels, Inc. in Detroit. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time when he posted them on Ebay.

One had minor curb rash but a local alloy wheel specialist repaired it for $70 and I can't tell at all. I wanted a set with the OEM finish and not refinished. Got lucky. Good luck they are available but takes some looking.
