Default Sunroof Frame

Has anyone had there frame replaced?I brought it in for infamous sunroof rattle which only happens when temp is under 70 degrees. Dealer took roof apart and applied felt. Said if it didn't work(it didnt) the frame needs replacement.
Im concerned about them dropping headliner and dismantling interior to do this. Anyone had sucess getting this done without collateral damage?

Fwiw they broke my windshield when they replaced the sunroof frame and it didn't solve the problem. Luckily I applied krytox grease to the seals and sound went away. Wish they would have thought of that before doing major surgery.

Having a dealer try to replace the frame will usually result in more problems. Dealers rarely replace the omega clips used on the interior panels which may just add more rattles not to mention your interior panels will probably get scratched as well.

Hey at least the drivers seat it covered. I would let them keep the car after that. When I soundproofed the SQ5 most of the panel clips were replaced as they are never as tight once they are removed.
