Default Tailgate Too High Fix?

Hey Guys,
I posted this in the other forum, but it's not as active. Also may help some Q5 owners out there.

We recently purchased a 2016 Q3 Prem+ for my wife and are running into the issue of the tailgate being too high for her to comfortably reach. It's a manual operating tailgate (no power tailgate button).

I've read a small fix by adding a belt, but it's really difficult as there is no good place to mount the belt.

Anyone know of any tailgate supports or fixes to possibly keep the tailgate from opening all the way?

Thanks in advance!

I have the close button version and when fully open I find it too low and I'm only 6 foot tall.

I assume you mean you just have the usual pistons holding your tailgate up? If so, the cleanest way to fix it would be to swap out one of the pistons for a shorter one. It would stop it from going as high.

So yours was a power tailgate with a switch after all?
