Terrible 2013 reliability to date; laughable Nav price--absurd if fails post-warranty

It does take out an incremental $50 in ownership cost and added time every other year once the checks start in year six. Given their wording per the first first link I will need to look at the DMV registration next year and see if the "abatement fee" (aka more incremental tax) for the normal smog check exemption in the first five years also is eliminated.

Note the Exempt Vehicles section at the bottom. My Prius qualifies for the first listed exemption, and there's no time/age limit mentioned.
Also note that Diesel vehicles newer than 2007 are also exempt (for the TDI owners).
