hey ZThang-
what size tire are you running with the 19’s?

They're Nexxen N'Fera 255/50/19. Not the greatest tire, not the worst, but affordable.

Just bought my first Q5, its on 20´s, but tire on it is 275/40-20 wintertire. No rubbing. Dont know why PO bought such wide tires. I think the wheels are RS6 OEM wheels

Those are called "peelers". Width is 9" on those wheels. If they put 275 on there that is definitely too big.

20s will ride worse due to increase unsprung weight, and MPG will suffer due to increased width and aerodynamic drag. 19s are a fine compromise.

I didn't have a choice: my recently-acquired TDI has 20" peelers. They look GREAT, but I'm praying will hold up on New England Roads.

One surprise: Michelin Pilot Sport 3+ 255/45/20s were a bit cheaper than 235/55/19s at Tire Rack!

Others that are running 20x9, what offset is recommend for that sizing? The rims I would like to get are only offered in +40 or +20, the +20 I would assume has more concavity but would I need spacers for either?

+20 you would have a lot of poke. You probably want to stay with +40, and run spacers.

So ready to pull the trigger on the Hartmann HRS6 - 091’s - 20 X 9.
ET options are Et29 or ET40. Understanding the post above that ET 20 would stick out too much, wondering if the ET 29’s would be ok?? Rather not run spacers if I can avoid them.

ET 29 would work well.
