Hi all I recently purchased a q5 2010 model and just today the windscreen wiper warning light (yellow) has come up. The wipers continue to work fine but do not clean perfectly. Is this the reason?

The back wiper does not seem to eject water all the time.

Anyone please assist me as to why the light has come on? or is it wiper fluid?

Just a wild guess, but have you filled the washer fluid tank?

apparently its not the warning light of the fluid. so I think it may be the fact it doesn't clean well or the fluid is not coming out on the back wiper! im hoping unless someone else gives me any clues?

There should be an explanation of what the warning light means in the owners manual.

Having read it just today by chance on the way to Euro delivery of a Q5.

It indicates some malfunction in the system--motor, switches, etc. (and could be fluid pump too I suppose) You would have to take it to the dealer or scan it with VAG-COM to get more info on the actual fault.

Driver messages and yellow symbols
If a yellow warning symbol appears in the display, it will automati-cally be accompanied by the corresponding driver message.
For example, if the symbol appears (windscreen washer fluid low), the display will also show the message:
Please top up washer fluid
The message will disappear after a few seconds. If required, the
message can be called up again by briefly pressing the SET
button.
Red symbols
A red symbol warns of a serious malfunction.
–Stop the vehicle.
– Switch off the engine.
– Check the function displayed.Obtain professional assist-ance if necessary.
