Default Worthless drivers!

Parked on a wide street in front of my house when some asshat decided to perform a 3 point turn in the middle of the street (based on the damage). Driver rear door will probably be replaced which is good I guess and the front door will need some PDR or skin replacement. Body shop seems to agree about not using filler and making it equal to factory. Of course it was a hit and run. Fortunately the B pillar is damage free. The rear door has some internal frame damage . Care to guess repair costs? Glad I still have a low deductable so from that perspective it is not a big deal.

I can feel your pain bro. Got tagged by a hit and run asshat while I was recycling some coffee at rest area in Kansas last July. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was just the bumper cover and valence but he / she managed to snag the left tailpipe and tweaked the whole exhaust system. The body shop could not straighten it so they wound up replacing most of it. There were probably 15 or 20 people there and nobody I asked saw or heard anything, ya right. There were security cameras but the KSP said none of them were aimed at the parking area. Probably a guy w/ no insurance or license or maybe an outstanding warrant, who knows. Asshat covers it nicely although at the time I was a little more descriptive. The bill came to $4k w/ a $750 ded. Next time I'll pass on the coffee. I'll guess $5-6k on yours.

I should know later today. If anyone has used the Ultimate Paint Shop in Highland Park chime in! So far I am very pleased with them.

Total came to a ~$3,600. That includes a new rear door shell and lower moulding for the door which is a good thing. I hope it turns out ok. The roof rail will be removed though in order to blend in the clear on the drivers side.

Are you gonna pay this out of your pocket, or you're going to make a claim with your auto insurance?

Since no other party was involved insurance costs will stay the same for. Anyone want to chime in on removal of the roof rail for blending etc? I am on the fence about it. Granted a body shop can never replicate the spray pattern from the factory so blending the rear quarter and front quarter in and up to the roof rail is probably the best way to visually mask the change.
