I have lots of phone number where I need to punch the extnesion. In my lexus i was able t enter the phone number as such.
1-604-734-1111,,,,4568 where 4568 is the extension. It wokrs just fine when I ma dialing the phone as standalone. It works just fine in my Lexys 350, but alas not in my new Audi.
3-4 commas as just seconds to pause.

Second issue I have, usually in most cars I would say
Call John Cell - But it does not seem to work in Audi. I ahve to say Call John and then it prompts me for the line number.

Regarding the first one, it's come up a few times on the forum and the consensus was that you just can't do it. Here's a recent thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...auses-2879698/.

I think the answer is the same for the second question - you just can't do it.

As said, the MMI ignores any characters other than digits in the phone numbers. It doesn't do pauses. As @NeedMoreHP mentioned you can instead use Siri to dial the number. In that case the phone dials it and doing the pauses and then simple patch the call through to the MMI. As far as Call John Cell, that works fine. You can say Business, Private, Cell to have it dial the specific number, but you must use the full name as stored. If you have the contact stored as just John, then Call John Cell should work. But if you have it stored as John Smith, then you have to say Call John Smith Cell. Actually, I don't know how it handles single names as I don't have any, but it could be that if you just say Call John Cell, then it interprets Cell as John's last name and then shows the closest match. Try a full name contact and it should work. It does for me. Again, this is perhaps another area where it makes sense to long press the voice command button and engage Siri to dial the number, so you can use single names.
