Any way to reduce the volume of the EV pedestrian warning sound in reverse?
I have had several instances now where people standing next to my car all but jumped the moment I put it in reverse. Before I had my Q5 PHEV, I was under the impression Toyota had the most over-the-top pedestrian warning sound. For my GF's RAV4 Hybrid we call it: "The Angels". But the Audi beats the RAV4's angels by far in both volume and penetration. With both cars the sound is much louder in reverse. Presumably because the speakers are in front, and it needs to be louder to be heard from the back.
I also find it unnecessary that the angels come on the moment you put the vehicle in gear. In the Accord Hybrid I had before, they would only start frolicking when the vehicle was in motion.
Is anybody aware of how the volume of the warning sound can be adjusted and/or be turned off while the car is stationary? Can that be programmed?
Thanks in advance!
