Default costof servicing

One of the cars I am thinking of buying is an Audi Q5. I obtained the detailed cost of dealer servicing the first 100,000 miles for a different make of car (uses synthetic oil) and the total including tax is $4,877.83

Does anyone have an idea what the total cost for 100,000 miles for a Q5 would be?

Dave

Dave, shouldn't you be checking at your local dealership to see what their labor rates are?

The data I have is for a 2017 Lexus RX (the 2018 isn't out yet). The Lexus dealer collated and handed me the printout. A local Audi dealer was not so obliging, read out some numbers, but I am not super-confident in them.

Not to derail, but this sounds about right. I wish I could have bought my brand new Audi from a Lexus dealer.. The Audi dealer I bought from (not the one here locally in FW) is easily the worst dealership I've ever experienced. So bad that Audi Corporate couldn't compel them to follow-through on some commitments and sent me a $500 gift card to resolve the issues. The local Lexus dealership truly is the way dealerships should operate. First class all the way.

Dave, European cars are not "cheap" to have serviced, by the book, at the local dealer. For that matter, neither are the hi-line Japanese cars. We have an Infiniti and the hourly labor rate is higher than the Audi dealer 2 miles up the street. These car are not cheap to maintain unless you have a local indy guy, that's affordable, or are going to DIY.

Our local gas station/repair shop is @ $98/hr. They'd never touch any of our better cars. Things are getting $$$$.

Our 2004 Lexus RX was dealer-serviced for the first 67k and local serviced for the last 50k. Rough figures for the dealer service is $4,200 and for our local guy $800 (I have tired to exclude all non-standard work). The local guy is absolutely first rate.

Dave, it sounds like it would make sense to stick with the local guy + the product he knows
