I have the Birch Gray-Brown interior - the combo looks good. See pic below. If you'd like to try it with your daughter's Cricut, DM me and I'll email the SVG file to you.

No removal needed. With the vector file I created, the Cricut just cuts out the removable vinyl film in the exact right size. The pain was making the templates - started with newspaper (since I could cut that with my fingernail, and created the first revision of the SVG file based on that (similar to creating an AutoCAD). That file allowed me to cut out a new template on the cricut (first with construction paper, then cheap drawer-liner vinyl). With each new template I'd hold it on place in the car to markup where adjustments in the vector file were required.

The photo below shows the progression from first rough template to usable product. The newspaper was cut by hand, whereas the other three were cut by the Cricut.

I paid a shop to wrap the piano black console with the Xpel Stealth Matte PPF while they were wrapping the front clip of my RS5. They charged me $80 and had a cut out for the console from Xpel. It turned out looking really good!

My 2018 A4 was Black Optic Package. All Piano Black Inlays. Yeah they look great… but one day I vacuumed my vehicle and the vacuum tube slid across the middle console inlay. The vacuum tube was covered in dust and tiny rocks/dust particles. The inlay was so scratched up I almost considered purchasing the Gray Oak inlays from the dealer. The addition you made looks great!

Looks very nice, and very good job. Have you considered using clear ppf? I've seen some people do clear, or matte. Carbon fiber does look nice though.

I ceramic coated my shifter trim. I was ceramic coating the car and decided to go ahead and do all the black optics trim as well as the interior trim. It isn't invincible, but hopefully this will give it a little more life. I do like the idea of being able to change the color/type of trim surround though and have a cricut. Very cool and thanks for posting!

I would also love a copy of the file if you're willing to share. A friend of mine has a Cricut machine and boy does it do wonders (for the price).

I think it looks fantastic! I just picked up a 2021 Q5 and would love to do this. Any chance you’d be able to send the svg file my way? Cheers!
