I'm curious too. Anyone with MY2018 or older still have Google Earth images in their VC?

I have a 2017 A4 Prestige and still have Google Earth but, based on posts here, my expectation is that it will end Dec 2020. Like you, I'm also waiting to hear of any updates on this situation.

All you that still have it. I assume your paid subscription people? I thought I lost it when my free trial ran out.

I just bought a used CPO 2018 SQ5 with 1000 miles on it so I don't have the prime subscription. I wanted to experience the google earth overlay (heard so much about it) - but it does not make sense to get the prime subscription and then lose the capability.

Can't speak for anyone else but yes, mine is a paid subscription, scheduled to run out in Dec 2020 - not related to the ending of Google Earth, but just that I bought the paid 18 month subscription in June 2019, hence ending in Dec 2020 unless I renew. Haven't decided yet if I'll renew - sort of waiting first to see if there will be an update/reversal to the ending Google Earth plans.

Some updates are coming out on the AudiConnect USA web site. It states:
"In 2012, Google and Audi came together to offer an industry first, Google Earth imagery as part of our navigation systems. The technology that Google uses to deliver Google Earth imagery is constantly evolving and updating. As of December 31st, 2020, Google Earth will no longer be compatible with the hardware in select model year 2018 and older Audi vehicles.

As a result of this change, after 12/31/20, affected vehicles will no longer be able to receive Google Earth images on the navigation screen. Rest assured, all other Audi connect services will remain available as long as there is a compatible service network to support them.

Select 2017 and 2018 models are eligible to receive a software update that will allow the continued use of satellite imagery.

MMI Software Update Eligibility:
The following models are not eligible for the MMI software update:
All model year 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Audi vehicles
Model year 2017 - A5, A6, A7, A8, and Q3
Model year 2018 - A6, A7, A8, Q3

Based on the vehicle’s production date, the following models may be eligible for the MMI software update:
Model year 2017 - A3, A4, allroad, Q7, TT, and R8
Model year 2018 - A3, A4, allroad, A5, Q5, Q7, TT, and R8
If you own one of these models, please contact your preferred Audi Dealership to confirm your vehicle’s upgrade eligibility."
To me, this means all 2019 are eligible to continue with satellite imagery and "select 2017 and 2018 models" refers to a subset of the 2018 and older vehicles equipped with the right hardware to continue with satellite imagery with an MMI software update. In another thread on this forum, it was mentioned that you can tell whether your 2017/2018 is eligible or not by looking at the media driver version under system software details in MMI. If there is a "Q" after the "MMX2" characters within the version number, the car is eligible.

Normally I would say that Audi is doing the right thing by giving software updates to the older cars to get this. And it might keep some people paying for their connect service. But, with my experience with Audi, it won't be free. Hopefully I am wrong. Now I have to check my version, but my car was made at the end of the 2108 cycle and I would thing it will have the Q.

Thanks for the info

Edit.. I just checked mine and I do have the Q. Now to get the update.
