Michelin 4 S vs. PZero on SQ5 21"
Has anyone replaced the Pirelli PZero OEM tires with Michelin 4S on their SQ5? I just got my first oil change on my 2018 SQ5 at 8900 miles and was told that my rear tires were at 2/32". And I'm usually accused of driving like a grandma, so no idea how this happened! Audi wanted $1600 for new PZeros, and after doing research, it appears the PZero have no treadwear warranty, especially on OEM tires, so I'm going to be stuck paying $1600 for new tires, on a car I haven't even had for a year, that will likely wear out again in time for my next oil change. Very annoying. I found the Michelin 4S searching DIscount Tire https://www.americastire.com/buy-tir...ort-4s/p/42256 since they have a location near me, they offer free rotations, and free repairs. I've always used them in the past and had good results. What really appeals about the Michelin is the 30,000 mile treadwear warranty. They seem to have good reviews on TireRack.com. They're slightly more expensive than the PZero but if the tread lasts closer to 20 or 30k, it would be more than worth it. Thoughts on these or other options? Looks like other choices are Continentals (not so great reviews on TireRack) and Dunlops. Open to anything, but really opposed to using the Pirellis again.

Yeah in my experiences Pirelli is usually bad. Although only 8900 miles is especially bad. The dealership themselves should have a wrinkled brow at that and offer you a deal just to keep you a happy loyal customer...but whatever.
If you must have a MAX performance summer tire then the PS4S is generally the best. Treadwear still won't be great but should be better than 8900 miles.
Otherwise it would be a search for an UHP A/S tire if one exists in either stock size or alt. sizing.

I'm about to replace my Michelins and got 50k out of them. 8900 miles is atrocious. Is your alignment out or something? Mine came with Michelin premiers and I'm debating on them vs the pilot sport all season, leaving towards premier. Never had any grip issues and they have a 15k higher treadwear warranty
I'm just not sure I see the benefit of performance summer tires on a awd SUV. I've driven like a complete **** and never had any grip issues with the stock Michelins. I'm cool with $1000 every 40 or 50k miles, but every oil change? No thanks

When my oem Dunlops on my 2014 SQ5 wore out, I tried 265/40-21 ATTURO AZ850 105Y XL tires. They did require 10mm spacers, but the tires were $657 delivered. I had over 20k miles on them when I sold my SQ5 and they still had lots of tread on them. They performed really well.

I just recently got new wheel and tires for my 18'. I went with Michelin's 4s on a 275 squared setup. The reason for choosing the 4s is because that my preferred tire to run on all my cars. Great ride quality along with amazing grip. Works great here in Arizona where the roads always warm. I have no idea how long they will last being this is the first AWD car iv'e put them on. However "Michelin provides a 6-year or 30,000 mile tread warranty on the Pilot Sport 4S". Forgot to mention there is slight rub at full lock in the front. Not damaging the tire or inner fender.

4S. You will not be disappointed! On track to get about 20,000 miles out of my first pair and already mentioned it to discount tire at my last rotation and they said they will just prorate a discount towards my next set. That being said, they may be cheaper than the PZero...
