Default Pirelli scorpion zero all season

Just purchased a 2018 sq5 with the 21in rims. Becuase it occasionally snows here I started to search for 255 40r21 all season tires. I found the pirelli scorpion zero all seasons in the correct size but it’s not listed as compatible for the sq5 21in rims. Does anyone know why?

What's the speed rating on that tire? That's possibly the reason

FWIW
I run SCORPION ZERO ALL SEASON PLUS - SIZE: 265/40R21
No Problems. They perform decent for a A/S

Make sure the load rating is compatible. IIRC, the 21" SQ5 tires are XL rated.

Seems to be a perfect match for the 21in rims. Maybe it doesn't show compatible because it's still fairly new?

Seems like they should be fine and it could be because tire rack hasn't updated fully. Pop a quick email to Pirelli and ask the question. They'll let you know compatibility (or maybe they have the decision matrix on their website?)

255/40R-21 Pirelli Scorpion Winter XL

I bought them last winter. They work pretty well for 21"

I'm debating if I should just suck it up and get the winter tire and wheel package from Audi or put these back on. I live in Cleveland, Ohio. It can get pretty ugly here in the winter time.

If I had to guess ... it's is because the 21in optioned SQ5s have a top speed of 155mph. The Pirelli Scorpion Zero A/S are rated at 149mph.

Good catch. That is probably the reason. Legally tire shops aren't allowed to install tires less than the OEM specified speed rating.
