Same overall tire circumference assuming you put on the right size tires, so it’s not off.

There is a brief dupiscussion on the difference between All Seasons vs Winter tires on Motor Weeks Season 38, Episode 10. Usually found on PBS TV.

After it all, I think I'm going to stick with all seasons and go with the scorpion verde 265s. I don't think they'll see much snow, but if they do it should be ok. For the most part if I end up in NY from DC roads will either be shut down and I'm not going or plowed/wet. If i stayed in Houston I'd probably keep the summers on all the time. Hopefully picking up my SQ5 this weekend. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.

Check the revolutions per mile on your Yokohamas vs the stockers. The Yokohamas might be a little smaller which would mean more revs per mile, which would mean better gas milage, since your odometer thinks you're going farther than you actually are. That would mean your speedo would be faster too, which you could check with GPS.

Finally got my winter wheels on and the car washed too. These are the OEM Winter Wheel and Tire Package. You can find it discounted by 15% most of the time. Still expensive but nice wheels. Judgement is still out on the tires - Michelin Latitude Alpin LA 2 AO 235/55 R19. They're quiet and ride well - but I've already felt a couple of slips. Can't say my old Blizzak's wouldn't have slipped as well. The Audi handles it so differently. Time will tell.

Hey pgi007, how much clearance between the wheel and the brake calipers do you have with the 17 wheels? I would much rather have the 17's also with a lot more rubber between the wheel and the potholes for a better ride in -35 but was worried about the clearance on the front brakes.

Thanks

I never measured the clearance, and they are not scheduled to go back on until the end of October, but there is plenty of room. I think I went with the specs Audi offered in their OEM package so not an issue. Do you have the standard Q5? I found a good wheel and tire calculator tool online (https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/) which allows you to play with different size combinations and visualizes the clearance.

I just picked up Audi winter rims and snow tires for our Q5 from a local dealer. Went with 17" rims and taller rubber, slightly narrower. Same overall diameter as the 19" summers. The dealer had four sets of take-offs from their demo Q5s so these had only 1000 kms or so on them. Everything looks brand new. The price was $1850 plus tax, so saved a few hundred over brand new. Check your local dealer and you may find they offer the same thing.
