Default Q5e Level 1 charge time faster than expected?

Hi. We recently bought a 2024 Q5e and started charging it at home using the supplied 120v charger. My expectation based on a number of threads here and elsewhere was for a charge time of ~20 hours to go from 0% to 100%. However, we are getting to a full charge in 14 hours. I am wondering if my car breaks the laws of physics(!) or whether more mundane explanation is possible? Could it be that the 2024 OEM charger is supplying 12A instead of 8? Is it possible the battery capacity in my vehicle is actually lower than spec-ed? Regarding the later, the total distance we can go on a full charge seems to be around 20 miles. Given the cooler temps here in Boston and the fact that we live in a hilly area, I don't think this is too far off from expected. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

First thing, the manual recommends not regularly charging to 100%. 14 hours sounds about right. I haven’t experienced really cold weather, but I can get more than 25 miles. Remember that the battery gets recharged when you brake.

Where does the manual recommend not charging to 100%? As far as I can tell, there's no way to tell the car to not charge up to 100%. For reference, I also have a 2024 Q5e. I use the timer charge over night to take advantage of my power company's overnight rates.

Page 123 of my manual. Unfortunately the manual won’t let me copy. Under the high voltage system. Upper right part of the page. Just do a search of “charging”. On mine it’s page 123.
You’re right, I know of no way to tell it to stop based on percent. It’s standard on electric or PHEVs to charge to 80% normally.

They must have changed the manual for the 2024 or something, I read the whole book yesterday and didn't find anything about charging percent. I was reading a bunch of other topics yesterday and PHEVs are designed to be charged every day basically. The system "hides" the top end and the low end of the battery from you to help keep it out of those danger ranges. PHEVs are not like regular EVs in the "only charge up to 80%" debate, from what I could gather.

Nothing was said about not charging everyday. The question is charging to 100%.
You’re right. It’s not in your manual. Big change

It looks like they took that block out of the 2024 manual:

I would think that if they wanted you to be able to stop it at 80% they would have the same interfaces as in the full e-trons that let you pick when to stop the charge based on a percent.
