As long as you read the manual, slap in in.

The install shouldn't be an issue, but how you use it depends on whether you want to follow Audi's recommendations for break-in, which is reduced rpm for the first 1500 km.

So, you plug this thing into your car and you get more horsepower and better MPG? Why don't they just put these things in the car when they build them?
Any effect on the warranty?

Like the JB4 - they could refuse warranty if they assert that the device is associated with the failed part (e.g. engine / transmission)
Like the JB4 - any gains in MPG or performance probably come at the cost of emissions. So they can't deliver cars with this performance mapping because they wouldn't pass regulatory emissions standards (unless of course they do something similar to dieselgate).

Default TD1

Touf, as long as you're OK writing off your engine warranty, it certainly is OK to install it today!

Racechip should be able to be uninstalled before any service and so remain undetected. True? I'm going under this assumption with my JB4 as others have reported no issues.

I would assume that those users have not had major engine issues where they start digging for the TD1 specifically. I don't think that pops up to the surface like a buoy. Someone had bought a car from Audi used CPO, had an issue and then found it was TD1.
Knowing this, if I were to buy a CPO, I would have a document stating it was not TD1 and have it signed by service and management.
I'm paying all that extra for warranty and I'd want it.
