Sunroof Issues for Q5
All,
I have an open custom order for Prestige Q5 with sunroof but I am not sure if the sunroof is worth it. I live in Seattle so you know its raining most of the time (I love the rain BTW)
I have read and researched the rattling issues with the sunroof and was thinking whether to delete it from the order or not? Also, the insulation for the sunroof for cold and warm temperatures, would it be a problem?
Any inputs are welcome.

The sunroof will probably increase resale value. At least the sun shade is much more opaque than my 2010 Q5 which I hated because let in too much sun when you didn't want any. I had some squeaks in the 2010 in cold weather, but my 2018 SQ5 went thru this past brutal cold spell in January with no squeaks.

No sunroof issue so far but I've had the Q5 less than 2 months and it's been raining lots here (SoCal). In the shop because the kick to open the hatch stopped working. Audi service has been great though. Have a Mercedes loaner and I'm really missing my Audi.

As leolarry said it will definitely help with resale. I've had zero issues so far on my SQ5. I'm honestly not a fan of them, but I'm glad I have one. I used to live in southern California and can honestly say i used my sunroof on my previous car maybe 3 timestin 6 years. I have had no issues with heat loss in the winter living in the Midwest currently, at least none that I can tell.

We live in Seattle too, have had our Q5 for a few weeks and enjoy the sunroof, already. Even had it open a few times. Love how the screen operates independently so we can get the open air with the sunlight partly filtered.

I've never had an issue with sunroof rattles. I like it for the extra light (something you will appreciate even when raining). I find the interior less confined/dark with the sunroof.

I noticed a little of bit of rattleing in mine for the first 600 miles or so. It mostly did it over bumps and was a little more noticeable during the morning, not super cold as I am in Houston. I havent noticed it recently. Hopefully its gone.

I own a 2017 Premium Plus Q5 and it started rattling right after I hit 50,000 miles (I drive a lot). I was told "they all rattle" and to turn the radio up. Seriously! I was also told it's a 2k fix. Ugh. Love this car, but WTH. I've also heard w/o sunroof really messes with resale, but hey, so does a rattly sunroof!

My 2019 SQ5 factory order included a sunroof delete. Like others, I was told by the sales advisor that no sunroof could effect resale value. My SQ5 will be in the family for 8-10 years so I dont really mind if at that time, the car is worth $50-$100 less because it doesn't have a sunroof.
I did the delete because IMO the car looks "cleaner" without the sunroof. I also deleted it because I would never use it. The Acura MDX that my SQ5 replaced had a sunroof (never used it) and my wifes BMW 530i has one that rattles (I never use it...).
