I've never had paint I particularly cared about before, so this is all new. The Navarra Blue shows pretty much anything, so I've resigned myself to having to invest in a buffer in the spring. Right now it is covered in dirt. I'll be pressure washing it tomorrow at a local place then take it home to finish with a hand wash.

When I've pulled into the garage these past couple of days, there is a solid layer of snow covering the entire back. Never seen this before. It's the same with dirt. The aerodynamics are very interesting - I'm sure it produces less drag and better gas mileage. But I can't even open the hatch without digging out the hand hold which is packed with snow.

I do hear your pain. I'm lucky to be able to park inside at night, and there is only a view days of year that it's snowing when I have to park outside at work. I try to minimize touching the paint and just plan for a nice buff/polish job after spring thaw to get out any of those issues that crop up over the year.

The one that you cannot control (and if you have OCD will drive you nuts) is the pockets at the external door handles will get scratched to crap from fingers and finger nails and isn't avoidable. I have heard of people putting 3M film in there but it's just a nasty spot for human generated rash.

If only it was just finger nails, I hate it when they are rapped in bling. The rubbing of metal rings on door handles drives me mad.

Sorry, forgot rings. That is the worst, and it seems to be a downfall of being married since the bling bling rings beat the crap out of that area.

High quality squeegee/ice scraper. Been using them for years. No swirls. Never use a brush on your paint.
