Had the 07 Q7 4.2 Premium for about 3 months and I have 4500 miles on it. What a great car. I do have a very annoying rattle in the right front dash. It sounds like more of a clicking than a rattle. Almost like a piece of double sided tape is lightly sticking to something and then snapping apart. I know posting about a rattle is goofy but I'm hoping others have determined what the fix might be if it is a common problem.

it is the hard plastic cable tidiers behind the glove box. I saw it when I had the Dension Gateway 500 put in behind the glove box. You could try and remove the box via the 6 torx screws (3 at top, 3 at bottom) and play around with some felt but it may drive you mad trying to find the exact problem cable. I've tried a few times but it's fairly random.

Thanks! I'll try that. Every car I have ever owned had one rattle that bothered me. I fixed every one except for a sunroof shade on a Lexus. I'll post my results.

Posting about a rattle on a brand new, reasonably expensive car in my mind is not goofy at all. So far I've been lucky with almost 10k.

I removed the glove box and did not find any culprits. There is not much access to reach up under the dash panel. I may have to take it in to have it looked at.
