Default Help with recode after changing the battery on a 2007 Q7?

My battery died (4 yrs. to the day after taking delivery of the car) and was told I would need to recode the car to relearn the power management of the new battery. does anyone know these steps or codes? Or, what if I kept power to the car with a small unit that plugs into the 12V socket so as not to let the car lose power while changing the battery?

I do have a vag-com...any help will be greatly appreciated.

I didn't get a chance to look at the wiki for battery replacement, but this is where I go when I don't know.

Gotta say, it is pretty pathetic you HAVE to go to the dealer or own/have access to a vag-com in order to change a dead battery out. Pretty sweet deal for Audi though.... What do the charge to change a battery anyway?

Yeah... $600 to replace a battery which should be a $100 item.... At least I can replace the one in my Z4 on my own.
