Water Sloshing Sound under braking.
2007 Q7 4.2 Prestige
Currently after a hard rain a water sloshing noise can be heard when applying the brakes. It sounds like it is coming from under the passenger side dash. I am aware of both the sunroof drain issue and the AC drain issue. My Q7 has aftermarket Webasto sunroofs and not the Audi sunroof. I would think the sunroof drains would not be the issue. Additionally I have verified that the AC drain is not clogged. I have had to replace my Bose amplifier before from water damage. Audi pulled my headliner off and said they weren't sure where it came from. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of where I could look to make sure water is draining properly to the outside.

Check the plenum chamber across the base of the windscreen. It is common for the drains to become clogged with leaves and debris. There are two rubber sleeves which hang down at the bottom of this chamber just above the transmission. I am not sure how easy they are to see but if you remove the plastic cover you should just be able to make out where they are. Somewhere under the brake servo and cabin aid inlet housing I think...

You need to pull your fender liners, and then clear out the clog on the cowl drain.

That turd looking thing is rotting leaves and gunk hanging out of the drain. I pulled a huge amount of stuff out of mine. Just pull the whole rubber plug out, and then use your fingers to clear it out.

Once the drains are cleaned--
Use some black duct tape to seal each end of the plenum cover to the fenderwell. That is where the leaves get in. I did this on a C6 A6 years ago and it worked there too. (Yes, silver would work but well---you know. :-) )
