Default 2007 Q7 Problem.. but fixed.. no idea how..

Hi all,

I own a 2007 audi q7 with about 60-65K KMs on it.

Heres what happened:

On Saturday, car would not start, i would hear the sound in the begining but it would not fully start.

I tried about 5 times on saturday and it just would not start. I also tried on Sunday and again no start.

I finally got it towed to a repair shop, and just got off the phone with them.

They had said:
- engine was flooded, and oil was flooded with gas so they had to replace oil and get un flood the engine
- replaced spark plugs
- and now everything is working again even after a test drive and everything starts with no problem

They said they had no idea why it wouldnt start as the spark plugs didnt really need to get replaced.

Does anyone have any ideas why my vehicle wouldnt start? The dealer said that they couldnt find anything wrong with it. Im just wondering because I do not want to go through the whole towing process.

Could it be because it was cold weather outside? Even though it wasnt that cold...

Thanks!

Hello,

Does your Q7 have diesel engine or gasoline? Do you know how old your battery is? Maybe they simple just re-charged or replaced your battery and got it working again... I know some mechanics who deliberately replace parts that are fine to make a couple of dollars...

Probably a gasoline engine since diesel engines do not have spark plugs.

It sounds to me like your high pressure pump or pumps have blown a seal allowing fuel to pump into the crancase via the camshafts.
The loss of pressure would explain why it didnt start but if they didnt fix it then it will happen again. Could it have been temperature related?
