3 diff't types of lights on the Q7?
There's
1. Xenon plus w/ Audi Adaptive lighting
2. Xenon plus w/o ^^
3. Halogens?
I saw a 3.6 non prem. at my dealer yesterday with different lights, and turns out their halogens. Didn't know Q7s came in Halogens

Re: HID should be standard IMHO especially on Audis
I agree. So should headlight washers. Since Audis are designed to be winter cars, they should be standard. They're there on A3s and A4s, why can't a $55k Q7 get them w/o the s-line package? Which makes no sense because then you can't drive the car in the snow, with its performance tires.
Xenons and Headlights washers should go together. Most of the other german makes (MB and BMW) understand that. When you get the Xenon option, you automatically get washers.

how do you like the Jetta TDI? Does it have a DSG?
SInce the new one will be a 50-state car, it looks like my dad might trade in his Camry Hybrid, and get a Jetta as his daily driver.

Xenon lights must have washers by law in the EU. The reason for this is that dirt diffuses the light which blinds oncoming drivers.
Personally, having previously had cars with bi-xenon lights, specifically a BMW X5, I chose not to have them on this vehicle. The reason being that when dipped the xenon lights cut off very abruptly at their horizon and beyond that it is pitch black. I prefer the softer light from good halogen lights.
Xenon are very good for off-road truck/tractor/excavator work lights but I would not have them again on a car by choice.

I thought all Audi's with Xenon came with washers...?
That's what my stealership told me here in Portugal: Xenon = washers too.
We've had three Audi's so far: a 2001 allroad, a 2007 A6 and a 2007 Q7 - all were specified with Xenon and all came with washers too.
Maybe it's a country thing?
