Default Adaptive headlight do not turn with steering wheel.

I bought this car used, but I have the window sticker and the spec sheet. It is a 2015 prestige with adaptive headlights listed in the specs.

but the headlights don’t turn when I turn the wheel. Is it possible to get a prestige edition with adaptive headlights that don’t have this feature?

if you turn on the fog lights does it say adaptive headlights disabled? Due to the advantage, an SUV has over a car on headlight placement I found my Q7 to be very subtle and harder to notice than it is in cars that sit low and you can watch the beam drag.. there is no startup dance, and you wont really notice it until you really slam some corners in the dark.. its speed based so faster you go the more you get out of em.

I don’t have front fog lights because the car has the V12 body kit. I have rear fogs, but I get no message when I turn them on.

I just remember them being much more noticeable on my D3 A8. It could be that I am just not seeing them.

Your light switch must be on AUTO as explained in the owner's manual.

oh, hrmm yeah that changes things w/no fogs.. rear fog would not disable em.

we've had a few people adamant they didn't have em until they went out and pushed em at night, we got a bit different than the rest of the VAG's people familiar with.. I had the same thoughts the first night out after having em on my MK6 Golf TDI, my Golf did a dance and worked at low speed.. was not until I turned the brights on with some trees on the sides of the road that I was able to see the edges of the beams moving.

Q7 seems you need to be going a minimum speed before they start working, one of our users took a video to show they do indeed sweep like the cars will if you put more effort into it, but it takes actual slaloming the vehicle where my Golf it did not need nearly as much inputs to see it, it would sweep creeping along at idle and hardly moving the vehicle.

Keep them in AUTO, and they will do the swiveling and the side lighting will work as well.

Another thing to note, get on the highway and really watch the beam at its furthest point and then go from 70mph to 73... at ~72 the mid range beam enables and that makes the headlights reach much further without blinding anyone, and they disable when you slow down to around 60mph.

Leave lights selector in 'Auto' mode or you defeat their automated features. You won't really understand the features on this particular car (seen & unseen) unless you read the user guide(s) cover-to-cover and reference any optional features yours is equipped with. Even if you've owned Audi prior, read the owner's manual(s) for this specific car. Also, highly recommend a VAG-compatible diagnostic/programming scantool or an OBDEleven, etc., to get a baseline on any stored error codes you can't see and won't know about otherwise, do code resets/adaptations/battery changes/general maintenance interval resets; an extremely wise and prescient investment if you don't have one.
Congrats on the car, and enjoy the ride!

If ever you are able to take a picture of the confort module coding it would be greatly appreciated. I have the same option (V12 body kit and no fogs) previous owner got the headlamp washers turned off and ever since I turned them on. The headlamps give an error message. (I know, dumb me not writing down the original code)

i have a VCDS. Where do I need to look?

also, thank you everyone for your advice. The AUTO mode enabled the adaptive headlights. I can now pull into my driveway without worrying about running over all the things. I will read through the manual and get a better idea of how all the systems work.
