not a chance..
The market launch schedule and release is packed, if anything something like this might be released as an 2008 model late in the year, after the new TT is released.

Come on Tim, you gotta believe it with me...
I have nothing to go on, but i'd dare say that Audi could capitalize on a strong Q7 sales wave by bring ing out the specialty type units to market asap.
I'll actually let audi bust out a TT FSI V8 for Q7, if they want to. :P

Actually, I think it will be called the QS7
The S7 will be one of two high performance versions (the other one being the RS 7, of course) of the A7 two-door or four-door coupe and convertible on the C7 platform that the next A6 sedan and avant will be on in the early 2010s. Of course, there will only be an A7/S7/RS 7 two-door or four-door coupe and convertible on the C7 platform if Audi decides to build it. It is merely a rumor at this point.

Re: not a chance..
I'm with BigSkyRick on this. We need forced induction at altitude, or so much extra hp that it doesn't matter. At 7000 feet we're down 21% on the hp...that's about 277 (350hp v8) to haul all that weight around here in Park City (where you only see a Cayenne Turbo on every other street corner).

Agreeed but it will be almost another 6-8 months before we see.......
the V6 and then another 3-6 months for the TDI so what I am saying is not anywhere in the near future at least two years....thats along time to wait. Besides the FSI V8 will be just fine in high altitude. The 2.0T FSI guys are not loosing 21% power..its more like 13%

I did say it was merely a rumor at this point (a bit long)
However, if there is an A7, in addition to being a larger coupe and convertible, it will either be a more conventional two door coupe and convertible ala the BMW 6 Series/M6 and Mercedes CL or a non conventional four door coupe and convertible ala the Mercedes CLS. The 6 Series/M6 and CLS have been highly successful since their introduction. The upcoming B8 A5/S5/RS 5 two door coupe and convertible will compete with the BMW 3 or 4 Series/M3 or M4 coupe and convertible and Mercedes CLK. Given the extensive success of the CL, CLS, 6 Series/M6 and 3 Series/M3 (E46) coupe and convertible, Audi would be crazy to only have a coupe and convertible to compete with the 3 or 4 Series/M3 or M4 and CLK. Contrary to what you said before, there is a huge market for larger coupes and convertibles, be it two door or four door. I think an A6 based A7 coupe and convertible (regardless of whether it is a two door or a four door) to compete with the BMW 6 Series/M6, Mercedes CLS and Mercedes CL would also be highly successful, even in North America and especially overseas.
