Audi Connect Dont work

Correct, 200kb gives you maybe two tiles. I'm using about 100MB/month if I don't leave my immediate area, so that's ~3MB every day. On average I drive about 1 hour every day. I have Google Earth on the display at all times pretty much. If I throw in a road trip during one month the data usage easily goes up to around 500MB.

I noticed superswiss wrote "I haven't used T-Mobile for quite a while. I'm using AT&T since my telephone module got upgraded and I noticed the other day that at least AT&T is using a dedicated Audi APN."
Can you clarify? Were you able to actually have a dealer or yourself switch out the old T-Mobile radio (3G) for a new AT&T radio (phone module) so you can get the faster 4G/LTE service? And everything works?

No, he got the updated TMobile radio from ~2014, its still 3G but the new radio supports AT&T bands so you can use an AT&T SIM or a T-Mobile SIM..

And so my 2014 q7 should at least automatically recognize and work with an AT&T SIM? Will my 3G be any faster since I’m still limited to 3G? I’ve seen mixed results some saying At&T’s SIM will even only connect at 2G. I guess I can try it later.
thanks for the quick reply!

turn your phone into hotspot mode heh, but no.. and the 3G service and google services only got like a year left before they gonna stop working so dont sweat it.. it wont be any faster on AT&T, but it should work on AT&T service if you have a sim card w/data plan.. AudiConnect support wont help you with anything but you can still set it all up, just wont manage the data subscription through audiconnect.

I wonder if the online destination Google service will still work? Or at least the hotspot probably should as it has nothing to do with custom code embedded in the vehicle simply to share the data.
A cheap tablet data plan would be handier than always having to turn on phone hotspot, using that data plan, etc in my scenario... Basically convenience...

If your on Android: https://android.stackexchange.com/qu...uetooth-source
Set your HotSpot up w/same name and credentials as at home, then all the kids tablets connect to the LTE when on the road and I dont need built in WiFi or a bunch of plans for the kiddos who dont need em.

On iPhone you can essentially leave the hotspot set to on all the time but in reality even when you are not connected to WiFi you'd need to go toggle it to get it working as I use it all the time in my 2010 A5 Cabrio with no phone module...

yeah thats why I buy pixels now, Virgin Android, OTA Updates.. no need to root, flash etc.. cameras are better than iPhones too..
Looks like IOS wont allow this functionality in an App w/out Jailbreaking it, bummer..
