"Auto Hold" vs engaging the parking brake every time
I switched from BMW to Audi Q7. One thing that I found super convenient on my old BMW is the "Auto hold" feature. It basically allows me to put my foot off the brake while waiting for the traffic lights.
I know the Audi Q7 2022 still does not have the same feature. But I am wondering if engaging the parking brake every time makes sense. I know 1) has to engage every time when I stop, 2) releasing the brake will make the engine starts, so it ruins the start/stop feature, but besides these, is there any other downside? For example, engaging parking brake while the car is still in 'D' shift, will it hurt the car eventually?
