Brake Fade in cold and wet.
So after my most recent travels to the northwoods I once again noticed brake fade when cold and wet. My vehicle is used to me and this is the first winter driving it. Is brake fade common on this vehicle? I have never in my adulthood have a car with faded brakes in the winter. Not sure what brand the brakes and rotors are and will have to evaluate what to use next. Down right scary in the most recent snowstorm. 20" inch all season tires are not so great either in the snowstorm.

Hey mate, when would of been the last time your brake fluid was replaced and flushed. Brake fluid is “hydroscopic” meaning it pulls the moisture out of the air and thus turning your brake fluid into a 70/30 % and worse if the fluid is old. If your having dramas in the cold it’s possible the brake fluid it freezing and compressing under pedal due to water contamination.

We need to know more about the car - what age is it and mileage.
It could be you have pads which are stuck in the mounting bracket so a simple clean up and rust removal of the pad backplates would cute the problem.
As Up-it suggested, a fluid flush is not going to do any harm either.
