Broke down in NC
Heard a loud popping sound going up the mountain and loss of power and it bucked, like OJ's Bronco trying to drink fuel. Glow plug light was on and we are waiting to hear from the dealer. Two more months of warranty and we were to hooking a U Haul trailer later that afternoon. Glad I put on new tires for this trip, nothing but rain down here for four days.

Sucks to have it occur during a trip like that, but wow is that some seriously good timing to occur before it goes out of warranty. Thank you Dieselgate! Hey, don't forget dieselgate provides you a rental car option in the event Audi dealer has no loaner/service car for you.

At least there’s a bright side. A blown turbo hose isn’t a huge repair. Yes the mountain grades likely contributed. Is a common thing on modified Audis driven at track events. High load conditions result in high boost and lots of heat pre intercooler. Clamps must be tight and hose to turbo and charge pipe connections clean and dry. Some have been known to spray with hairspray just prior to joining. Glues the hose in place to discourage its slipping.

I am almost a grand out of pocket between the tow, rental and repair. Dropped off copies of receipts this morning to my local dealer who did the repair work previously. I hope they step and reimburse me.
