Car is locked, dash lights on, can't even unlock with the key

This is not a good (older) vehicle to leave sit w/o a battery tender on it...most all Q7s develop parasitic battery drains and/or eventually get some other age-related parts failures due to corrosion...such as grounding cables, etc., or shorted sensors, etc. You really need to own a VAGCOM capable scan tool and fully scan your own car to see what info (trouble codes) it's holding for you internally.

So far as what can you do? If you read this thread, you key won't work in the driver's door; time to call the lock-smith...good news is if you have USAA car insurance and have the towing coverage, then the locksmith should be covered.
