While I was accessing the jack for my Q7 the other day I noticed for the first time that the tool holder for the spare tire and jack were molded from a black colored molded styrafoam.

First time I've seen a company use customized styrafoam cutouts to hold its tools. Obviously it's a weight saving exercise that Audi even bothers with that kind of fanatical attention to detail.

But given it's brittle nature, just out of curiosity, anyone know what it costs to replace?

No clue but given Audi's Proudness of their parts, it will be asstronomical. Best bet, purchase extra jack within the styrofoam off eBay. I believe it was $65 off ebay (brand new).
