Default Fog Light Bulb Suggestions.

Looking to upgrade my fog lights. I have an 08' Q7 with H7 fog bulbs and I am comparing a couple of options and I would like opinions.

1.) Opt7 HID 3000k or 5000k OPT7 Blitz Bullet HID Kit - Opt-7

2.)Opt7 LED fog light bulbs http://www.shiphid.com/ebayimg/LED/LED_FOG/Plasma/%5BLEAD%5DPlasma-L.jpg

3.) Any other recommendations?

Ive read some other threads on here and a lot of people recommend Hoen HID bulbs, not sure if I want to buy from them as a lot of their kits are on back order... Anybody running Opt7 HIDs? Does that HID kit I posted come with ballasts so there will be no bulb out error? Any LED plug and play fog light options out there for under $50? Just curious, looking for a cheap but efficient mod for my Q7.

sorry, i was misinformed about the foglight. it is the M'autolite LED finless.
it uses the philips chips. it is a match for the D3S Philips XV. (The XV comes in H8 & H11)

i have the philips XV in my last Q7 w/ e-codes, F31 & RRSC. i have the bulbs sitting in the garage for the new set of e-codes but this time around i would like to match the fogs and these are the ones to get without doing a HID conversion.

here you can see them installed:

Just got H7 Philips but my car uses a different kind. Could it be H11s? I do have another set coming for the 2015 and I'm sure is going to be the same wrong one as for the 2013. So I have two sets with the wrong lamps. Sucks!

Didn't realize you replied, thanks for the info. Also, I have a slightly off topic question. Do you know if in VCDS if there is a way to turn off the "Cold Diagnostics" it's where the car sends quick bursts of energy to each bulb to see if the bulb is out, so it does a very very quick flash of the LED bulb, because LED has an "Instant On" effect while on in incandescent bulb, the burst of energy does nothing. I know it's possible on other Audis/VW's to turn this feature off, but, I haven't heard any info on the Q7. Because I would like to do LEDs in my fog lights like what you stated above. But I'm worried that they will flash. My other bulbs I installed (rear turn signals) had resistors and they even still did the flash thing.

I'm pretty sure the bulb types are:

2007-2009: H7

2010-2015: H11

Very unfortunate. Does the place you bought them take returns?

Also, why did you sell your 4.2? Did you ever have any issues with it?

I sold my 4.2 because it had 60K and was 2007 with air suspension. Nope, the car was great! I had the leaks on the forward drain and did the rear myself. Never had any issues with the suspension. The rear A/C had a leak but the warranty replaced it. They also replaced all the steeper motors behind the dash under the factory warranty. It was time to get a new one.

Thanks,

i believe this is correct why i was confused above with the philips xv... i know they make them just not for some vehicle setups.
