Default Fog light bulbs

Other than putting in Ballasts and HIDs, but bulbs are you putting in your Fog Lights? The stock ones are really, really weak and way off color from everything else.

I installed the MTEC H7 12v 100w Super White and they match the factory/OEM HID headlamps perfectly.

I had the heon ones before myself. Not bright but the color was similar to the headlight color. Unless you are going with an HID kit... any other bulb you get the light will be much weaker.

Ztop, you put H7's in your fog lights? You must not have a Q7?

I thought about it, but the ballast are a PITA and I don't want the dealership to blame me if there is an unrelated electrical problem. My last Q7 was replaced because of an electrical problem and if I had had HID's, my guess is that they would have blamed the fuel delivery problem on the HIDs.

Have you done an HID kit on an Audi for Fog lights?

I have been considering installing HID's for my fog lights but I have two issues that are stopping me, please chime in if someone has already done this with positive results:

1) Where would you mount the ballast where they would have decent protection from the elements, road debris etc?

2) Since the ballast draw less voltage/watts than the standard OEM incandescent foglight bulbs, how do you get around the "Bulb out" Indication?

I don't know about the US models, but the Euro models have H7 bulbs in the fog lights.

I got them from a UK ebay seller.

The fog lights for the Q7 are H7 bulbs.

The picture of the MTEC bulbs shown here depict H4 bulbs which is incorrect for fog lights for a Q7
