The ECONOMY button also is the On/Off button. Press it for a second or so and it switches betweeen ECON mode and AC mode. Hold it for about 3 seconds or so and it will turn the entire climate control system off. To turn back on, just hit that button again or the temp control **** or the AUTO button.

Default After the engine is off, you can push and hold ECON to allow for residual heat
from the engine to blow back into the cabin to keep it warm. We had this on our Touareg and I am SO happy Audi included it on the Q7

Default Agreed. At first glance I was disappointed I didn't see the "REST" button
as in our Touareg, but then I RTFM.

how to turn off the auto option in audi a4, because of this option am unable to switch on some options. please let me know how to turn off this option.

What year is your A4? Considering this is a Q7 forum, you may not get the best info. On the Q7 there is a button that says "Auto" and when you push it, the auto function turns off. Try looking through your owners manual, I'm sure the info is in there.

Here is the 4L Q7/C6 A6 Climate Control Unit:



Is your A4 like this in any way? Does it have an "Auto" button?
