How long does it take to bring your car to standard operating temperature?

Well for my Q7 that's normal. I've got a 12 minute back road drive to work and it gets warm 10 min into the drive. Engine temp on the guage is in operating temp range at about the 9 min mark. I had it checked last year by the dealer and they confirmed it.

Yup, I took an alternate route to work and it warmed up right around that same time. Even my old 4.2L seemed to warm up faster

I start my 2011 3.0T every morning about 5-7 mins before i leave for my 11.5 mile commute as well. about 1/2 way into my drive, the engine temp will rise to the 1/4 mark and eventually a tick short of 1/2 way or normal operating temp by the time i'm parking the Q in my garage. I will add that my car is parked outside overnight most of the time.
