Default I hate NYC parking garages!!!

Went to get my 1 1/2 month old Q after work yesterday from the parking garage... and the manager tells me they had a slight accident with it!!! Apparently one of the attendants tried parking another car too close to it and hit my rear passenger door, then kept going and scraped along the wheel well and into the side of the rear bumper!!! My heart fell out of place when he told me this. He had me fill out some paper work, and they took all the fault. Its at the body shop now, being worked on at the garage's cost. He promised me it will look 100% perfect and that if I'm not happy with it, they will take it back until I am happy... but still, I am soooo mad and I can't believe they f$%$'d up my baby Q when it wasn't even 2 months old yet! I felt like crying... literally.

Default I know what you mean. NYC has to be the worst place to have a nice car.

I live in Boston but when I was dating my wife she lived in Manhattan. I put 180K miles on a '94 Accord in 3 years. At first I parked it in NYC garages but after 3 dents, just parked it on the street. Other parkers ground all the paint off the bumpers, lots of yellow dings from cab doors, footprints and dents on the hood, roof & trunk from kids climbing on parked cars like a playground. Other scratches from flying debris and people sitting on the car wearing jeans with metal rivits. It was such a mess. I bought a new A4 in '96 that stayed home safe while the Accord continued to do the NYC trips. I still travel to NYC on business and hate leaving my new A4 in the hands of a garage attendant.

No loaner... sucks, huh? They swear it'll be just like new... we'll see. I seriously prayed that my Q will come back like new with no other problems or issues!

Default I remember reading about someone swapping engines in a NYC parking garage.

An elderly couple came back early from a trip only to find people installing an engine in their Cadillac while their engine was being installed in a cab parked next to it.

Caddy probably had 20K miles on its engine & the cab had 200K miles.
