I recently read an article that stated Audi was expecting most Q7 sales will be conquest sales (people moving from a different manufacturer to and Audi). Since it is a new avenue for Audi I can surely see this happening.......but
This got me wondering how really true this is. How many of us came from a different Manufacturer other than VAG? Domestic, European, or Asian?.......and maybe even what brought to the Q7? We moved over from a Volvo into the Q7 so I guess we are a conquest sale.
I just thought this would make for some interesting reading and discussion.

'05 LR3. Missed the luxury, didn't need the off-road, annoyed...
by the little things:
- Nav to got us lost in 3 major US cities: NYC, Philadelphia, and Charleston, SC, as well as insisting our home address here in DC metro didn't exist, though the street itself did;
- 4 pages of TSBs during routine oil change; 3 unscheduled service visits in 18 months, though nothing that needed more than 1 day/ea to fix nor caused any safety issues...nevertheless, where's the quality control, Ford???
- Again, utility over luxury...I guess that's what the RR Sport and RR are for (lux), but we needed 3 rows, and missed the nicely appointed interior we got accustomed to (in our previous BMW 528)
What do we miss, sometimes?
- The audio system, of all things...the LR3 had an aux jack as well as headphone jacks in the 2nd/3rd rows. This let the little ones listen to CDs while wife and I listened to iPod, or vice-versa
- The adjustable air suspension wasn't buried in any type of MMI, which made it easy to use load/unload level
- Storage...one area the Q7 is definitely lacking vs. the competition. In particular, the LR3 had nice covered bins in the third row windows -- unused space in the Q7.

It was a truck but my wife loved being above the traffic. That's the main reason for going suv besides a more comfortable ride. Should have the 4.2 lava grey/espresso by the end of the month and can't wait.
