Default Q7 2008 - can't find the AMI input

Good day, I am new here, though I have been reading some of the posts here since I got my second hand Q7 (2008) a few years ago in Hong Kong. I have been driving it without enjoying any music at all because I did not have time to figure out how to have it through bluetooth.

This Q7 has Bose system installed, I think it was factory installed. It also has a 30-pin connector under the driver's armrest. Since this pandemic, I have more time to have a look into it. I have an Android phone. I think the easy way is to get a 30-pin BT adapter. I can get a BT adapter for pre-2009 models for about US$27 from here.

But it looks like it needs to connect directly to an AMI port. Here is the problem. I googled & believe the Q7 AMI ports are either in the glove box or in the secret compartment under the driver's armrest. However, I could not find any ports at all in these places. Please take a look at the photo of the armrest. Could the AMI port be under where the 30-pin cable was?

My last question. On the display, does it mean the Q7 has A2DP? Or, have they never been functional on old Q7's?

Daft question time. Have you searched for available bluetooth connections on your phone? I didn't even know I had bluetooth until my 14 year old daughter 'just connected to it' ?

There is bluetooth. Bluetooth connection & phone function through the car factory system works. But, A2DP bluetooth streaming (e.g. Spotify, music playing through phone) never worked. That's why I wanted to replace the 30-pin iPhone cable with a bluetooth adapter.

But, I need to locate the AMI end of the 30-pin cable, that I could not find.

You don't have ami based on your mmi screen.
What you have is aftermarket module called mobridge, it acts as second cd changer. That's why you see cd7~12 on screen.
I don't know it's function as I have denison 500 installed.
There's manual you can check on their website.
If you need to find the module, normally it's behind cd changer.
Good luck.

If you have something like this to plug in your iPod.

Then buy an iPod bluetooth adapter, I used a setup like this for years in my older cars and it work perfectly.

Thank you so much. The bluetooth ID is mobridge whenever I connect it. Thanks for pointing me in the direction.
Any suggestion on how to get bluetooth streaming easily?

After a bit of googling, I think the problem Congress down to the mobridge installed by the previous owner.

I'll head in that direction to see if that can be sorted out.

Thanks a lot to those who gave me advice. Stay safe.

I have been trying to update the firmware of the mobridge box. However, I am having difficulty running the updater with bluetooth on my laptop. So, I have to update the firmware by SD card or a USB cable. I thought the mobridge box was installed behind the glovebox. Can anyone identify if this metal box the mobridge box or something that came with the Q7 instead? If it is the box I am looking for, how can I take it down?

This is a right-hand-drive Q7
