My car is an Audi Q7 2012 3.0 TDI.

Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction.
Update: figured it out.
Used Ross-tech tool and software to enter the programming procedure.

Module 18 - adaptation, channel 4, new value 2. Then you have 5 seconds to program the remote by pressing the off button.

My friend have a "enthusiast" grade tool from Ross-tech its about 200usd with software.

Excellent! I'm glad to hear you got it working and also appreciate you taking the time to share the solution with us!

The RossTech VCDS is an excellent tool. I believe it comes standard with the ability to link to three VINs, so if your friend has issues with it working on future VINs, he may need to contact RossTech to pay for additional licenses.

Following along eagerly, I've read this over several times and about to take the hit and order a webasto off eBay. I do have 4zone (rear passengers have their own climate control in the center console), so which model is ideal? It's a 2012, the one I found complete with muffler and all is an 071H model. Not sure if that's the one I should be looking for since I saw the post about needing an N279 valve?

*Edit* turns out all of them are two zone. The search continues ...

I was unable to find any which were both four zone and included the N279 valve. I’m going to end up ordering and replacing parts to create one. The following diagram/parts lists are for versions that have both the four zones and N279 valve.

Dude that is some great info. Thanks!!

I believe it's only 2 pipes that have to be changed out correct?

That sounds roughly right. I think there’s two longer pipes and a short hose or two necessary to convert a two to a four zone setup. I’ll be sitting down with the one I have (two zone with N279 valve) and going over it and the diagram in earnest soonish. The Webasto is the same regardless and after that just seems to be coolant plumbing which needs to match up to your particular vehicle.

Gotcha. If that's the case I'll buy this one off eBay and begin the disassembly process as well. I found one complete with the N279 up top and the water pump on the bottom, along with an intact exhaust pipe and muffler. Might take the webasto apart and clean the ignitor and fuel injector as I was reading on here or somewhere that sometime they weren't used all that much and could be clogged up.
