Time for Idle to smooth out 2010 Q7 3.6
Hey Everyone! I just picked up a Q7 2010 3.6 with 65,000 miles. Question how long does it take for the idle to stabilize from a cold start. Mine takes about 10 seconds. Sounds a little rough until idle stabilizes. Is this normal. I am guessing it is the oil pressure building up on the chain tensioners. Thanks In Advance.

If its just sound your hearing yeah, its normal VAG stuff.. Lifters and Timing Chain tensioners wont hold residual pressure for as long as they used too when new so they will make a racket until oil pressure is up to snuff.. Dont matter if you got a VR6, a 4.2, or a TDI.. they all do that.

high idle during cold start-ups not always but most the time and a little rough idle after warmup...
