Appreciate any advise on using the right tool, website, software to determine the trade-in value for used-cars (audi's in particlar)?

Edmunds and KBB are close to what the dealer offered me - but only the fair-to-good condition price range. Eventhough my car had low low miles and was super clean, they blamed things like tires needing replacement (6-7/32 tread) as not warranting a good/excellent.

Thanks, Aggie. I checked with the dealer and he mentioned that they use Galves to figure out value. I checked galves and anyone can access, but you have to pay $10 to $20

i can check the auction values for you. that is typically what dealers look at. if they can't sell it, they know it's worth at least (x) amount at auction.

what is the year, make, model and miles?

Tires and brakes are a killer @ just 30,000 miles.

Your talking a $3000 shop bill for tires, brakes and allignment on a Q7.

Thats why I sold it myself to an individual. These can be done for much less at any reputable shop.

It is 2000 A6 quattro, 70,000 miles, single owner, no smoke

I find Edmunds works good for me, but I always have ended up going the private sale route as I just can't stomach losing significant cash trading in.

assuming it's the 2.8l quattro and not the 4.2, your values are attached.
