Default Transmission recall

I went online to see about booking the transmission remap (EDIT: this is for a 2013 TDI) that I’ve been reading about here. For some reason I thought I saw it before when I plugged my info into the Audi dealer site. Now I don’t see anything about it. Don’t think I ever got it done. What am I missing?

There is no transmission 'remap'...you got the emissions-fix tranny reflash until you personally modify it. You can change the shift map to a different (compatible) map, such as the Cayenne, Touareg, or even the original Q7 shift map if you have the code for it, etc.

There is an Audi Service Action for North America cars, ASA#23Z9, which is an ECU (engine) reflash only for the Gen 2 TDI engines (2013-2015), which restores most of their missing giddy-up and willingness to be playful that was lost with the original "emissions-fix ECU reflash"...this ASA#23Z9 is the one you want to be sure the car got, as it was a reactive campaign only; not a recall. So, only those who requested it from a dealer and booked an appointment got it done. It's still available, and will absolutely wake up your Gen 2 TDI engine if it hasn't yet been done, and you haven't aftermarket tuned the car. BTW, aftermarket tuning unleashes a lot more HP/Torque in the TDI, but you also have to pay for that privilege.

Look it up on Audi's ASA lookup page by VIN#, and verify by calling Audi if not sure. Basically, if your '13 TDI engine revs freely and is fairly responsive/fun to drive, and gets up to 30+ mpg on freeway, then it's been done. You can still do a throttle/trans learning memory reset anytime, as well as change the shift map (VCDS required) to one that's pre-emissions, in order to get even more driving goodness from it.
