Hi all newbie here... Central locking issues!!!
Whilst locking the doors with the key fob, sometimes the drivers door fails to lock, which doesn't activate the alarm/immobiliser. Locks and activates alarm with the key.
Any ideas how to resolve this. Thanks in advance ☺️

Check microswitch in the door and cabling going into the door (for power windows etcetera). If the microswitch fails to report that the door is closed the alarm might go off.

The issue is intermittent, always having to check the doors when leaving the car.
I'll have a look for the micro switches/alignment as there is a bit of door sag, not much but that could be an added factor.
thanks for the reply 👍

On these Q7s, it is really important to get a VAG-compatible scan tool; otherwise you won't have a clue about what's going on inside the car, and won't be able to view the trouble codes it stores, which generally will point you to the root-cause of your issue. If you plan to DIY your car, get what works; the Ross-Tech VCDS. It'll literally save you gobs of $$$ and time.
