So I recently ordered the MMI aux cable for my 08 Q7 and got it plugged in at the port just under the center arm rest. It will play music from my phone via the aux cable but plugging my phone into the USB side of that MMI cable does nothing. The MMI screen says device not supported nor does it charge my phone.
I read something about how the 2G MMI system will only read music files from a flash drive that’s 4GB or less, basically a tiny flash drive, but the MMI cable doesn’t support newer phones or have any charging capability. Does anyone have any experience with this system?
